Love in my Bowels 3

Veronica had lost her peace ever since Felix’s proposal, although she loved him, she didn’t know what to do. She had told him right away that it was impossible for her to express her love to any man in marriage because of her allegiance to Christ, nevertheless she felt disturbed, and her heart never ceased to long for him.

It’s been two months since Felix proposed to her, she had struggled with the thought on several occasions but she couldn’t help herself, she lost concentration at work, the school principal called her to her office to ask what was wrong, but she claimed everything was alright, when the principal realized that there were no changes, she reported to the Reverend Mother in charge of the convent in the school, nevertheless she was at sea about the situation.

……………….

“Come right in dear,” Juliet answered from where she laid. “Good afternoon,” Veronica said as she shut the door behind her, “afternoon, and how are you?” said Juliet on her feet opening her arms for a hug, Veronica received the hug with a down-cast face. “Good to see you, “Juliet said as they both settled on the mattress.

“How has it been at your work place?” Juliet asked, “It’s been splendid, thank you.” Juliet noticed her troubled face. “What is wrong Veronica? Why do you look troubled?” Veronica adjusted on the mattress and reached for the pillow.

“I am fine,” she said bowing her heads, “that’s a stereotyped answer you know, you don’t look fine. So, girl tell me what it is,” Juliet moved closer to her, Veronica started to say, “it’s about Felix” she dragged. “So what is it about him?” Juliet tried to cuddle her into her embrace, “ermm ermm,” she dragged again. “Ermmm what? Or have you gotten over that erroneous feeling you had for him?” This made it more difficult for Veronica to speak, erroneous is what you call what has cost me sleepless nights for months now! She thought.

“Felix proposed to me!” She said looking elsewhere as quick as possible, “what! Didn’t you tell him you are a nun; I mean you are a Reverend Sister for Christ sake!” “I did, in fact, he has seen me in Nun`s robe before, but he asked me to make a compromise for him,” Veronica said as if tears might be clouding her eyes.

“That’s serious, what sort of compromise is that? That is simply too grave.” Then she took a minute or two before she spoke again, looking into her friend’s eyes, she saw the tears that clouded them, she knew Veronica was in love with Felix, she knew what it means to be in love, and so she understood how Veronica felt.

“Okay, let me ask you, what exactly do you want,” Veronica raised her head, with tears dripping down her cheeks, “I love him, I have lost my concentration for months, I can’t help it, but I fear what people would say; that I am not bold enough to keep my allegiance to Christ.”  Juliet removed a handkerchief from her bedside, pulled her unto herself and wiped her tears. “ Dear,  one key to failure that I am sure of is trying to please everyone, your joy is what matter most to you, much more than that of the Abbess of your nunnery, it matters more than the joy of the other Reverend Sisters, I am not a Reverend Sister because I have the capacity to have sexual desires, celibates are those who have the God-given gift to live above their emotions for the opposite sex, they don’t struggle like you are doing now.”

Veronica had stopped crying, “so, if you love Felix and you want to be married to him, why not? Instead of losing your concentration over what God would be happy about, why not accept his proposal!” Veronica adjusted and moved out of her embrace, “but I have told him it’s not possible,” she answered, “that’s no big deal, if he really loves you he will give you some more time.” “Alright then,” Veronica drank some of the water she was served earlier, Juliet added, “and when he comes back to you, tell him how you feel, let love flow in your heart unhindered, it’s God`s gift to man and shouldn’t be a thorn in the flesh, if you have love in your bowels, then spill it out and don’t die in silence.” “Thank you dear friend” Veronica answered with a smile.

…………………………………………………………………………………….

“Morning, I’m fine, thank you,” she answered her caller with a blush,” she still had her towel wrapped around her; she just finished from the bathroom. Felix said a lot of things and eventually mentioned his proposal to her. She was more relaxed over the phone this time, “well it’s not like you are not a good man or something like that, it’s just that…”

Felix quickly took over from where she dragged, “what if we talk about it over lunch? Would that be fine by you?” Veronica quickly embraced the opportunity, “alright then, yes 1pm is fine by me” joy filled her mind as she ended the call. She sang a song that came to her mind. She sat on the mattress to moisturize her body; she became so eager about the appointment.

She entered the restaurant exactly the time they had agreed, Felix was not there, she sat in there at her choice table, looking around, just as she looked through the glass door, she noticed exactly the same image that had caused her heart to tremble. There was a tingling in her belly; she adjusted herself in her chair, and looked away so that he could look around for her.

There she found her, Veronica inhaled a deep breath as he marched towards her, (where was this well built handsome man when I took my oath of allegiance, did Jesus ever knew I would meet such a handsome man as this when he let me swore that oath of chastity?) “Good afternoon Veronica,” his voice vibrated and called back her attention.

“Afternoon, you were behind schedule,” she said. “Well, I was here before now, I went to get something, I am sorry I kept you waiting,” he settled on the chair opposite her. “It’s alright then,” Felix raised a lot of issues, politics, life and lots more, Veronica feared that he might never mentioned what she wanted to hear. “Veronica, you know life is beautiful,” Veronica muttered beneath her breath, (yes I know it is; if only you would ask me again, please ask me)

Felix spoke on subjects, different from what she expected, Veronica began to mutter,’ Holy Mary Mother of God, is this a way of punishing me for my attempt to break my allegiance, please let it not be’ Veronica sat in there staring at Felix has he spoke, depression was quick to settle over her, how everything could rapidly fade into the deep deep dark chasm of no return Veronica had no idea, didn’t he say we are going to talk about this over lunch, so why is there no mention of it now during lunch, now that she had nurtured a desire to be with him.

Veronica decided to take the bold step, “if I may ask, what do you desire now that would make life more beautiful to you?” Felix answered with a smile, “a lot of things my dear, but more importantly to express my love to someone I am endeared to,” Veronica quickly grabbed the opportunity, “why not go ahead and express it?” Felix enjoyed the line the discussion towed, “yes I love to, but she has denied me this rare privilege,” they acted just like in the movies, Veronica replied, “but a ‘No’ doesn’t mean ‘Never’” Felix said, “ I agree, maybe I should ask again, dearest Veronica I want you to be the love-----“

“Yes! Yes! She interrupted with glee, “but I haven’t finished my question to you Ma’am,” his voice expressionless but his eyes twinkling in merriment. The chuckle rising up within him played like music to Veronica’s ears. They both laughed at each other just then a waiter walked to their table with a package and handed it over to Felix, he bowed and walked away. Felix opened the package and brought out a lovely bouquet of roses. “I love you more than you can imagine Veronica,” he handed her the roses.

 ……………………………………….

Veronica eventually summoned the courage to speak to Reverend Mother about Felix, and Reverend Mother asked her to return after a week with the young man in question.

“Please have your seats,” Reverend Mother offered, “thank you Mother,” they said in unison as they settled in their seats. Reverend Mother started to speak, “I presume this is the man that wants to make you break your allegiance to Jesus Christ?” Felix was almost furious with the Reverend Mother’s words. “I beg your pardon Mother.”

She didn’t care but spoke on, “yes Mr. Man, that is exactly what you want her to do, isn’t it?” “Mother, I have only said I love her, I haven’t stopped her from serving Jesus!” Felix said back.“I see, you have only said you love her and intend to marry her isn’t it? Don’t you know she has been married to Jesus and has pledged her allegiance to him?” Reverend Mother said in her defense. Felix spoke fiercely now, “I am sorry, but did Jesus Christ ever demanded HUMAN WIVES in the first place?”

“Mr. Man if you don’t speak respectfully here, I will show you the door,” she said on her feet. Veronica fidgeted on her seat, this was what she feared, it was a battle of the soul, they had to fight it, Reverend Mother spoke towards her direction, “Okay since Sister Veronica here is not firm enough to take her stand for the Lord Jesus Christ, I don’t know what to say now, but I will give you both two months to go and think about this decision of yours properly, because I wonder why it is a nun that appeals to you of all the ladies in this world.

Love in my Bowels 2

Felix had been confused since the pseudo-date he had with Veronica, throughout the outing, he avoided sensitive words, his plans for the outing were shattered, he couldn’t express what he had in mind. He selected his words carefully trying to be appropriate as possible, he was more careful of the environment they were during the outing, he didn’t want to raise dust, seeing a Reverend Sister in a public place alone with a man could raise questions in people’s mind.
He ended the pseudo-date as quick as possible and as much as he felt uncomfortable throughout the outing, he enjoyed every bit of it. He felt the fragment of peace he had always felt, when the thought of Veronica came to his mind, her presence seemed to revive his confidence as a man, as much as Veronica was conscious of her environment too as a Nun, she still spoke politely ending every necessary line with a blush.

Felix was perplexed at her attitude, the boldness she had to appear in the public with her robe, sitting with a man, and still smiled intermittently, something was definitely unique about her. Felix loved her more in the robe. She was elegant, beautiful as it were, Felix enjoyed their time together, although it was not a sophisticated one with candle lights in a cool evening but it seemed to appear more romantic than the usual ones. He eventually dropped her off at the school where she worked.

Felix sat in his house thinking of Veronica, it’s been two weeks since their pseudo-date, although the movie played on in the living room, he could hardly concentrate, regardless the noise from the action movie. He had just sent her  a text message, he paid her no visit since that day, neither did they agree to meet anywhere again, he carefully selected the lines he wrote and that was how it has been since his knowledge of her real status, although he called her, it was less frequent than before. As much as he did his best to get over the thoughts of her, he sincerely wanted to move on, and let it be. As a catholic, his father was a catechist during his life, so he understood what it meant for a Reverend Sister to be married to Jesus, with a ring on her finger as a symbol of her marriage to Christ.

Felix wanted to part ways with her, but the more he tried to cast off his mind from her, the deeper the feeling he felt for her, at some point he felt it was the devil seducing his mind, and prayed against the thoughts, but it didn’t take long before the feelings overwhelmed him again. It seemed like he had never seen a woman before in his life. Her thought crossed his mind several times in a day, but he disciplined his hands not to pick up his phone at every of such times.

He just couldn’t fathom why he felt so strongly excited about her, he loved everything he knew about her, even for the fact that she was nun; the more they struck acquaintance over the phone the more he wanted her. He struggled with the thought of her all of the time, her love flowed through his heart unabated, he wished he could give her a glimpse of his heart; he wished he could hold her hands and tell her how much he loved her.

……………………………………………………………………

“Enjoy the rest of your day,” her caller said on a final note, “bye.” She replied as she ended the call, it was Felix, he had called to say hi, Veronica toggled on her bed, meditating on their discussion over the phone, she reminisced on all he had said to her, she enjoyed the thought of it all.
She had seemingly fell in love with him too, although she didn’t like the fact that their friendship had suffered setback because of his knowledge of her status, but she had to do what she did to be on a safer side, but she couldn’t cover her emotions with a robe even if she covered her body. She awaited his call all of the time, but she made sure she never returned any of them, so as to avoid sending a wrong signal to him, but she often replied his messages  with a thank you.

He enjoyed the times they spoke on the phone; he was a friendly and nice man. As his thoughts wandered in her mind, suddenly she felt an awakening, she was there lusting after a man again, she stood up from the bed immediately and knelt in front of the small table covered with a white clothing, on which was a frame of Mary the mother of Jesus and a cross with an image of Jesus on it, she quickly lit the candle in the candle stand on the table, and bowed with her hands clapped together. She muttered, ‘Holy Mary Mother of God have mercy on me for lusting after a man, holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

She went on with the prayer, moving the rosary in her hands as if she was counting the beads. She had done this severally especially when the thought of Felix came to her heart; she had bound the devil several times. She felt it was a demonic operation, but she had forgotten it takes the grace of God to be a celibate. She had forgotten there were special human called to be ‘eunuch’ for the Lord, and it was not just any soul that grew up in a catholic environment and felt they were capable of holding their emotions bound.

Immediately she stood up from the table, it didn’t take long before the thoughts filled her mind again. Just as she stood up to retire to her bed she heard a knock on her door. “Come in” she answered, it was Juliet, “how are you dear friend,” she stepped in quietly. She guessed she was the one at the door; she had called to confirm her presence in the compound and informed her of her intended visit.

She to rose to hug her with a smile, they settled on the bed and started to gist, Veronica opened her bedside fridge to serve her soft drink, Veronica had hid Felix’s friendship from Juliet despite how close they were. Just then Juliet mentioned it, “how is Felix doing?” she started to say, Veronica looked at her with a suspicion, “Felix? I should be asking you that, you both are in the same parish and should know better.” Veronica tried to avoid any suspicion.

“Yeah I know that! I mean you both seem to be friends now,” Juliet replied. “Well yes we are, nothing more than that,” she answered defensively. “Ok, but why are you been defensive? I am your friend and you should be able to come out pop and plain to me.” Suddenly the look on Veronica’s face changed she knew she needed help, and decided to be sincere with her. “Are you sure you want me to be sincere with you?” “Why not, what are friends for?” she said staring into her eyes.

“I am in love with Felix,” she landed the bombshell, Juliet flashed her a despicable gaze right away. “What do you mean? Holy Mary Mother of God!” Veronica felt sober, but took the courage, “but you asked me to be pop and plain with you, didn’t you?” Juliet’s mouth was widely opened. She spoke at last, “that’s serious, how did you get yourself there? I hope you haven’t insinuated such to him?” “I haven’t but my heart tells me he is also in love with me,” she said.

“Stop it Veronica, how do you know? On what ground do you base your conclusion?” “Haba! Juliet how wouldn’t I know if a man is in love with me, the fact that I am a Nun doesn’t stop blood from running in my veins, does it?” Veronica answered back. “Anyway, that is correct but you need to pray against such lustful thought, you are a nun for Christ’s sake, the other Reverend Sisters must not hear about this.”

“Of course, it’s only you that I can share this with, moreover I have prayed severally over this but I couldn’t help the feeling.” “I think you should initiate a resistance against it, if it doesn’t work we’ll find something about it.” Juliet said patting her friend.

…………………………………………………

Felix had done his best to hold back his feelings for her, four months since their outing. Although he called and sent her messages regularly, the more he tried to seal his mind concerning her, the more he fell in love with her, his feelings for her grew day by day.

Falling in love with someone, who doesn’t love you back could be saddening, but falling in love, and never finding the courage to tell the person was painful.

He concluded in his mind to tell her, he was ready to face whatever would be the consequences; he was tired of denying his feelings. He was ready to rise to the challenge, he was going to damn the reactions, even if he would receive a ‘NO’, which was not synonymous to a death sentence, he would at least be man enough to confess his love for her. He picked his phone immediately before the courage eroded away.

………………………………………………………..

“Thanks for coming over,” he said on his feet as he pulled the chair for her to sit. “You are most welcome,” she replied as she settled in the seat. This time around she didn’t wear her robe; she wore a blue blouse on a pleated skirt which was way below her knees. Felix had invited her to the place they met few months ago.

“You have a nice blouse there,” he commented, “thank you, you look good too,” she said with a grin. “Thank you, but you don’t need to flatter me.” Felix chuckled, “howbeit I flatter you? Okay you look very ugly,” trying to broaden her voice with a giggle at the end. “You are funny you know,” Felix smiled, “I presume, if you do not want a complement you would at last prefer it the other way round,” she said smiling as she sipped the juice she was served. “Alright then, I admit I look good,” he smiled. Felix raised a lot of discussions trying to put her in the best mood she could be in order to receive such a news.

“Ma’am permit me to ask, if you don’t mind,” Felix started to say, “okay, go on and what is it?” taking a bite of her snacks. “What’s your definition of ‘compromise’?”  Veronica tried to read in between the lines but couldn’t figure out where the question was heading. “Compromise? I think it literally means bending rules, protocols and principles. I guess that answers your question Sir” “Yes it does,” “Okay that’s cool” Veronica said. “Veronica…” Felix started to say calmly, the pitch of his voice had suddenly dropped. “Yes Brother Felix,” she replied.

“I understand that you a Reverend Sister, and you have ban marred to Jesus, but I want you to make a compromise for me, I have done my best to hold back the strong feeling that I have for you, I thought it was only a flimsy one at first, but it has proven itself with time, I have done my possible best to conceal the thought, but I found out that love is stronger than one can conceal.” He felt the draw upon his heart, even more so as the deep colour of her eyes pleaded with him. “Veronica, your love has filled my heart, I have struggled to resist it, but I couldn’t help it, I thought I could master myself and be in charge of my emotions, but concerning how I feel towards you, I have lost hold of it. Veronica, can you make this compromise for me? I want you to be the love of my life?”

Veronica’s mouth was wide agape, she sat in there amazed, she tried to look , elsewhere although she knew Felix was affectionate about her, she never thought he could summon the courage to tell her to her face, let alone propose marriage to her.

It’s been years she had such experience, she was not familiar with it again, a man seating right in front of her, wooing her, her robe had shielded her from such experience over the years, but here was a man that damned her status and approached her boldly.

She didn’t know exactly what to say; although she loved him too, but it definitely could not work, what would the Abbess of the nunnery she was trained in say. How would she report such a decision? Would she join the list of Reverend Sisters that broke their allegiance to Jesus, their allegiance of chastity and purity? Several thoughts flew through her mind, what exactly was she supposed to say as a reply.

She spoke at last, “you mean ‘the love of your life’? I am a nun for Christ sake, what are you saying?” She answered with shock expressed all over her face. She muttered beneath her breath as she bowed to the table, “Holy Mary Mother of God!”

Love in My Bowels

“Thank you for coming around,” Juliet said to her friend, “It’s my pleasure, the message was powerful,” “all the glory to God, it’s a rare privilege to bring a Sister out of her Convent.” Juliet chuckled. “You should know I will always honour your invitation any time “Sister Veronica said as they walked towards the church gate “Juliet!” Felix called out from behind.” She turned around to see who called, “Felixander! It’s you.”

“Yes dear, how was the program?” He stretched out his hand for a shake. “Splendid” she answered; Felix reached out his hand to Sister Veronica also. “Afternoon Ma’am,” he bowed, “Afternoon Sir,” Veronica replied. “Felix meet my friend, Veronica.” Juliet started the introduction. “It’s a pleasure,” Veronica said back with a smile.

An exceptional portrait of beauty, a fair lady with average height, her choice of blouse fitted her black pleated skirt. “How has it been at your new office?” Juliet asked Felix who had just been transferred from another state. “It’s been worthwhile, the staff there are awesome and there is better human relationship amongst them than the state I was transferred from.” The duo discussed as Veronica walked silently along towards the gate. “Thank God, all things will surely work together for your good.”  Juliet responded. “Amen, enjoy the rest of the week,” he said as they parted ways outside the church premises. “Thank you, and you too,” Juliet replied, Veronica also said thank you and waved at him.

Something seemed attractive to Felix about the young lady that walked with Juliet, although she was absolutely quiet, while they spoke, he still could not understand such fragrance that spread through her. He was not just caught by her unspotted beauty; he concluded in his heart, that it was just one of a kind.

Veronica was the first to speak as they sat in the public transport that conveyed them home. “Juliet come to think of it, why is it that you don’t address each other formally, I mean I was expecting you to address that brother as Brother Felix and not by his first name.” “Oh really, does it make any difference?” Juliet said surprised.

“Well, I think it does, it gives a sense of respect, if I were to be an unbeliever, I would simply assume there are no boundaries and probably it’s just like in the normal world system.” she replied “anyway if you think so, Sis-ter Ve-ro-nica’’ she chuckled stressing every syllable.
..................................................................................................

Juliet was on her way to choir rehearsals at the church premises, her head was still bowed to her phone, as it was common of blackberry users, she was replying chat messages that popped up on her phone, when her phone vibrated again, she checked to see who it was that sent a ping, looking up at intervals to be aware of on-coming vehicles. It was Felix, she replied him “hello’’, they started to exchange chat messages with Juliet raising her head at intervals as she walked along the street.

Felix quickly asked about veronica and how she was faring, Juliet replied well. Felix asked when the next time she would be coming around to their church was, Juliet replied that she wasn't sure about her visit, Felix went ahead to ask for her contact, Juliet probed the request a little, but eventually yielded when he defended that he had good intentions. “Talk to you later,’’ she replied finally as she entered the church auditorium.

……………………………………………………

It’s been over three months since Felix’s first contact with Veronica, he had almost forgotten about her until she showed up again for a weekend program at their parish, although Felix had gotten her contact, he suddenly dropped the idea of reaching out to her and felt he might appear too forward.

Throughout the program his mind was fixed on her, it was only when the preacher raised his voice intermittently that he tried to pay attention at the seminar, but it did not take long before he gave her another gaze. The Same kind of feeling that he felt on their first contact seems to gradually fill his mind. He felt a fragment of peace at the thought of her, he manage to concentrate through the seminar, and impatiently awaited the end of it so that he could feel her presence closer.

‘’Veronica! Veronica!!”Felix hurried after her, as people walked out of the church in numbers. ‘’Veronica! Veronica!!” he said aloud again, this time she heard someone call her name, she still felt awkward as her first name was called, unlike in the convent where everyone was referred to as ‘Sister’.

“Afternoon Brother,” she replied with a blush, "thank you for coming around, it’s good to see you around here” he said with a grin “Yes, your parish is a good place, moreover Juliet is my best friend and I could hardly turn down her invitation,” looking around for Juliet.” That’s honourable, your friendship seem to be grounded.” “You can say that again she smiled. This time, Felix decided to ask for her contact, Veronica almost raised an eyebrow but thought against it and reeled out the digits.

Thank you Veronica, I will call you one of these days,” just as he ended the line, Juliet showed up from behind. “Choristers were asked to stay back, I am sorry for keeping you waiting,” she apologized. “No problem, Brother Felix has been chatting with me.”

“Good afternoon Felix, thanks,” Juliet said. “You are welcome, let me leave you two, do enjoy the rest of your day,” he walked out their presence, as he was sure the phone number was enough to find another contact with Veronica.

The two ladies walked along as they discussed every section of the seminar, they giggled at intervals, and Veronica told Juliet they had to hurry to the bus-stop, because she had left the convent quite long ago.

It was a bright afternoon in the convent; Veronica had just retired to her room, after a brief meeting with the Reverend Mother in her office. Just as she settled on her bed to remove her flat shoes one after another, her phone vibrated, it rang continually. She made sure she removed the pair before considering the phone that rang. The call was missed, she was still curious about the digits when the phone started to ring again, she quickly answered the call.

“Good afternoon,” she answered her caller. It was Felix calling, he spoke on for few minutes, he asked her about her day and the likes, and she eventually ended the call with a smile after Felix had told her to save his number.

She seemed to enjoy Felix with his commanding but friendly voice, she picked up the letter Reverend Mother had given to her, and tore it open to see where she was transferred to; it was St. Theresa Girls’ School. She was glad because it was closer to Juliet’s house; she picked up her phone to inform her of the news.

…………………………………………………………………….

For weeks, Felix called Veronica every day, sometimes twice or more in a day, Veronica began to suspect his warm friendship, she never told him about the fact that she was a Reverend Sister because she wanted to appear like a polite young lady, and at other times assumed Juliet might as well have told him. At first she felt it was only a mere hand of friendship, but with the incessant messages and calls, she started to think otherwise. She had decided on telling him severally, but something strong seems to hold her back, perhaps because she did not want to lose his friendship.

Veronica was a very polite and respectful lady; Felix loved her for all of these, she was not forward at all, she didn’t ask for his house or more information than necessary. He enjoyed their friendship; he felt he had found the right woman for himself, and since he was ready for marriage, he was just going to go for this prim and proper lady.

“How is my friend doing today?” Felix asked with a smile over the phone. “I am fine and you?” She said, trying to sound appropriate as possible. “I am doing well, I was thinking of something, if you wouldn’t mind?” He started to say. “Okay and what could that be?” “I would like to come and visit you at home,” he said fearing what her response might be, because she was a firm lady.

Veronica wasn’t expecting it, but she did not like to receive male visitors in the convent, especially now that she works in a girls’ only school. “Okayyy, that would be beautiful, but I will be coming to town shortly, what if we catch up there?” She said trying to avoid the convent visit, although Veronica respected and admired Felix, she never thought he had anything up his sleeves. “Okay that would be fine by me,” he said, he didn’t want to push it hard.

…………………………………………………

Veronica was almost through with her shopping when he noticed an image like Felix’s approaching the glass door, he was tall and handsome in a pair of jeans trousers. Felix almost caught her staring as he opened the door, she looked away quickly and muttered beneath her breath, ‘Holy Mary mother of God forgive me for lusting after a man’.

Felix looked around the store where they had agreed to meet, just then Veronica beckoned to him at the cashier, Felix thought it maybe it was a different person entirely, he thought maybe the apparel on her was a joke of somewhat. ‘Jesus Christ!’ he said beneath his breath, as he marched towards her still hoping it was a day dream. Veronica had decided to wear her robe that day, to inform Felix against any intention.

Felix silently prayed it was her twin sister, and she was still somewhere around the corner. ‘Veronica! A nun!’ he walked on as if his head was not there. ‘Why didn’t she tell me?’ ‘Is this some kind of pranks or something?’ He had developed feelings for her already, putting up plans each day for their coming together.

“Good afternoon Veronica,” he called out to be sure. “Afternoon” she said with a smile. Felix looked around perplexed. “You are a Reverend Sister?” He asked, he couldn’t hide the shock boldly written all over his face. “Yes I am, and I guess you are surprised?” she smiled. “Absolutely, you never mentioned it!” Felix said as they walked out of the store. He did not know where to start from, his bubble had been bursted.
